Hakan Bagci

Funded by the Medical Research Council, Hakan received a PhD degree from Imperial College London for his work on the epigenetic mechanisms of pluripotent reprogramming and stem cell biology. He is currently a postdoctoral scientist at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, where his research is based on synthetic biology and genetic code expansion in mammalian systems.
Hakan’s academic path has been driven by curiosity, and to widen his horizon he has established a number of interdisciplinary and international collaborations during his studies. Due to the rapidly growing biomedical research scene in Cambridge, Hakan joined the Innovation Forum with the motivation and desire to establish strong bonds between the academia and the industry.
