Thursday 29th of June 2016 saw the finals of IMAGINE IF competition in Cambridge with the top 15 regional teams presenting in front of an experienced and diverse Cambridge judging panel (names and affiliations). The teams had three minutes to pitch their innovative and high impact products, that ranged from cheap (<£1) disposable medical devices that could instantly identify specific diseases according to their genetic fingerprints, to complex attrition-rate algorithms that could be used across multiple industries, to fully patented online platform for energy companies to assess the energy usage and behaviour of their customer base.

The judges eventually choose NG Safe as the winning team receiving the £1000 prize and Prosper Diagnostics as the runner up. Both teams will proceed to the Global Finals where they eventually will compete for the $30,000 prize and benefit from the Global Accelerator programme.

NG Safe have developed a medical device that allows physicians to assess whether they have inserted their feeding tube correctly into the patient’s stomach or in the lung by mistake.
