Sophia is a PhD student at the Department of Pathology, whose project involves investigating a small DNA virus known as BK polyomavirus. The project aims to uncover the mechanisms behind non-lytic viral egress and novel host-virus interactions.
Sophia first graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 with a BSc in Microbiology, then completed her MSc in Molecular Medicine at Imperial College London. Following the successful completion of the EnterpriseTECH PhD+ course at the Cambridge Judge Business School, Sophia is particularly interested in learning more about, and contributing towards, the interfaces between business, life science research, industry and technology transfer.
Sophia's other interests include photography, playing music with her band, travelling, learning languages, swimming, skiing and badminton.
