Rebeka Popovic

PhD Student

Rebeka is a PhD student at the University of Cambridge, MRC Toxicology Unit. Her project explores endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondrial stress in Drosophila models of neurodegeneration.

She graduated from University of Surrey with a BSc in Biochemistry, which included a nine-month placement at the La Sapienza University in Rome. She continued her education at King’s College London with an MSc in Neuroscience, specialising in neurodegeneration research.

Rebeka joined the Innovation Forum to be a part of a multidisciplinary team which promotes innovation within science. She is enthusiastic about devising novel strategies to strengthen the communication between the academia and the industry in order to facilitate the translation of scientific ideas into products.
